ABOUT IUFRO
IUFRO (INTERNATIONAL UNION OF FOREST RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests and trees. IUFRO is “the” global network for forest science cooperation. It unites more than 15 000 scientists in almost 700 Member Organizations in over 110 countries and is a member of ICSU. Scientists cooperate in IUFRO on a voluntary basis.
Themed “Forests & Society Towards 2050”, the Congress tackles contemporary and future challenges stemming from population growth, climate change, and globalization. Aligned with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, this event is a unique opportunity to influence the future research agenda and shape a roadmap for the next generations, encapsulated in the Congress statement.
