The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration event proposal at CoP28 aims to highlight the pivotal role of ecosystem restoration in addressing global environmental challenges. This event will serve as a platform for showcasing the achievements and success stories of the UN Decade on ecosystem restoration, focusing on knowledge sharing and collaboration to improving ecosystem restoration to ensure climate-resilient future. Furthermore, it will present strategies and tools for tracking restoration efforts and ensuring its lasting legacy through the Framework for Ecosystem Restoration Monitoring, the UN Decade’s platform for keeping track of global restoration efforts, as well as through behavior change campaigns and toolkit as a joint effort with UNREDD. In addition, the event will feature inspiring success stories from the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, with a particular focus on World Restoration Flagship initiatives.
