Dutch musical duo HAEVN is urging people to reconnect with nature with their new single and video, "Great Mother", featuring Mozambican artist Neco Novellas. The song acts as centerpiece in their upcoming album "Wide Awake” and is a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of our planet.

This release comes in support of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, underlining the importance of healthy ecosystems for all life on Earth. The music video features breathtaking visuals of nature, intercut with footage of the singers and an orchestra, symbolizing the connection between humans and biodiversity.

"Great Mother" echoes themes that will be central to the upcoming Convention on Biological Diversity’s 16th Conference of Parties (CBD COP16), taking place in Cali, Colombia this October. To reach the new Global Biodiversity Framework's targets, a “whole-of-society" approach is needed. HAEVN's message about reconnecting with nature aims to serve as inspiration for individuals and communities around the world to take action.

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030, led by the United Nations Environment Programme, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and its partners, covers terrestrial as well as coastal and marine ecosystems. As a global call to action, it will draw together political support, scientific research and financial muscle to massively scale up restoration. Find out how you can contribute to the UN Decade.
