"The United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration: opportunities for Countries in the Three Basins" will be held on October 26, 2023, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo during the Summit of the Three Basins of Biodiversity Ecosystems and Tropical Rainforests. The event will take place from 15:00 to 16:30 (16:00 – 17:30 Rome time) in Room 2.

This event will focus on the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration and the opportunities it presents for countries in the three basins. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) are jointly coordinating the implementation of the Decade, ensuring close cooperation with countries, other UN agencies, and their partners.

The main objective of this side event is to inform participants about the progress achieved since the launch of the Decade on June 21, 2021. The event aims to identify opportunities for the countries of the three basins in terms of knowledge sharing, monitoring and evaluation of progress in restoration efforts, and fostering South-South exchanges to accelerate the mobilization of financial resources.

Looking forward to your participation and hope to see you at the event!
