The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration in partnership with Salesforce hosted a learning session on "Artificial Intelligence and Nature Restoration" in December 2024, providing a glance into the future(s) of conservation. The session explored potential benefits – but also risks – in employing AI for preventing, halting and reversing the loss of nature. Panelists explored how AI can help with habitat monitoring, species identification, engaging communities or securing land rights.   But they also discussed the flipside of AI technologies – which are energy intensive and could be socially disruptive.

The session included leading experts in AI, finance, land rights, conservation biology, and soil science.

Watch the recording now and discover how AI can unlock nature's full potential.
