In 2022, the Center for Earth Ethics conducted a series of place-based consultations to support the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration: St. James Parish in the United States, the River Yamuna in India, the city of Mombasa in Kenya, the Philippine Eagle in the Philippines, and food and forests in Jordan.
This comprehensive study emphasizes the crucial role of values, culture and spirituality (VCS) in anchoring and accelerating successful restoration projects. And it provides a roadmap for restoration efforts to synthesize environmental principles, cultural values and spiritual insights in creating meaningful change for ecosystems and communities alike.
