Twinning lab Workshop is a series of online events taking place throughout the project to enable GenRes cities to discuss their experiences, challenges, and opportunities based on specific themes. Cities can participate either as presenters, active learners, or listeners. Cities can request to participate in future twinning labs.
The main theme for this first Twinning Lab is “Structuring Environmental Governance in a City”. Structuring environmental governance in a city refers to the establishment of frameworks, policies, systems, and mechanisms to manage and mitigate environmental challenges within urban areas. Effective environmental governance is essential for ensuring the well-being of city dwellers, protecting ecosystems, and combating climate change. By structuring governance frameworks tailored to the unique needs of cities, policymakers can foster resilience, sustainability, and quality of life for urban populations while safeguarding the planet for future generations. In this Twinning Lab, Cape Town, Istanbul, and Mexico City shared their challenges, sustainable approaches, achievements, and key learnings.
Main Objectives:
• Facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Provide a platform for learning and sharing experiences.
• Engage with global leading experts.
• Enable active learning and dialogue.
