The Near East Forestry and Range Commission is a policy and technical forum for the countries of the Near East to address the most pressing forest issues in the region. It also provides advice to the FAO forestry programme, as one of six regional forestry commissions of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Forest and rangeland resilience, forest and agrosilvopastoral system restoration, and women’s participation in non-wood forest products and pastoral value chains will be high on the agenda.
The Commission meets every two years to review progress and set new agendas.
