This event is a course on the use of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) tool for remote sensing in the agroforestry and environmental field. The course will be held from January 31 to February 10, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm CET, and will be taught by Javier Pérez Romero, a researcher and doctoral student in the Re-Forest research group of the Department of Hydraulics and Environment.

The course content includes:

  • Introduction to remote sensing and GEE,
  • Understanding of the cloud computing environment and workflows,
  • Evaluation of the data catalog offered on the platform,
  • Learning the fundamental geospatial processes, and
  • Obtaining results from different types of data.
  • Realization of different practical examples: mapping of spectral indices, image classification, obtaining time series, disturbance detection, etc...
  • Developing methodologies learned for forestry or agronomic applications.
     

The registration fee for UPV students, alumni, and staff is 80€, and for the general public is 160€. The Universitat Politècnica de València will issue a certificate of completion to all participants, and the course corresponds to 3 ECTS credits of the degree course to be validated as electives.This event will be in Spanish.
