9th World Forest Week

This side event is part of rhe 9th World Forest Week and will focus on addressing landscape degradation and deforestation through collaborative forest landscape restoration efforts. It aims to showcase innovative solutions and partnerships developed by governments and conservation organizations to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management.

The gathering will highlight knowledge sharing from IUCN's forest conservation initiatives, collaboration between IUCN and FAO on restoration monitoring tools, and announce a new Global Environment Facility-funded initiative for primary forest conservation.

As part of the broader World Forest Week, this event brings together various stakeholders and experts to provide participants with practical insights into navigating the complexities of landscape restoration. The ultimate goal is to accelerate efforts towards creating more resilient ecosystems and sustainable communities, aligning with the week's overall focus on global forest issues and solutions.
