The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) have launched a call for coral reef events to be hosted at the #ForCoral Pavilion at the occasion of the upcoming Convention on Biological Diversity COP16 in Cali, Colombia!

The #ForCoral Pavilion - setting the course to achieve the Biodiversity Plan for coral reefs and associated ecosystems - will be hosted by the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) in collaboration with, and support from, generous sponsors.  The Pavilion will provide a critical platform for one of the world’s most threatened, yet valuable, ecosystems at the occasion of the UN Biodiversity Conference Sixteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP16), in Cali, Colombia, from 21st October to 1st November 2024. The #ForCoral Pavilion will be located at the Blue Zone of COP16, in the Centro de Eventos Valle del Pacífico, therefore accreditation is needed. 

The #ForCoral Pavilion will bring together spokespeople for coral reefs, from Nations, Governments, and policy makers to indigenous peoples and local communities, youth, investors, and conservation practitioners from around the world to showcase their work and to continue to raise awareness on the global need for the conservation, protection, and restoration of coral reefs. This Pavilion will evidence that the effective conservation and preservation of coral reefs is essential to achieving the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) targets, as well as the Coral Reef Breakthrough.
