G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI), United Nations University (UNU-FLORES) and LaRSSA are jointly hosting a 5-day workshop providing a comprehensive overview of post-mining land restoration, including essential topics, practical techniques, and real-world examples. The workshop features both classroom sessions and field trips offering a participatory and interactive experience.
Designed to immerse Pan-African participants in the nuances of post-mining land restoration, the curriculum spans environmental, economic, and land-use driven climate change mitigation facets. This workshop will emphasize the vital role of the restoration economy, underscoring the importance of harnessing private sector expertise—particularly in knowledge, innovation, and financial coordination—to create sustainable and impactful restoration solutions.
Limited funding is available from GLI to support participants interested in this mining restoration workshop. The application deadline is February 03, 2025, and space is limited, so early applications are encouraged.
