The Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, also known as The Bundeskunsthalle, has opened its doors for an immersive exhibition titled "Save Land. United for Land". Co-organized by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)’s G20 Global Land Initiative, and the Bundeskunsthalle, the exhibition is promoting land restoration, including the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. This collaborative effort brings the urgent need for land restoration to the center of public attention.

Running from 6 December 2024 to 1 June 2025, the exhibition explores the multifaceted relationship between humans and land. Through a combination of art, science, and storytelling, "Save Land. United for Land" challenges visitors to rethink our impact on this vital resource. Featuring interactive displays, compelling photography, and innovative installations, it highlights both the beauty and the fragility of our planet’s landscapes.

As part of the exhibition, visitors can immerse themselves in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration RESTORE documentary series. The films are shown on interactive screens that resemble gigantic mobile phones throughout the venue. They portray real-world stories of ecosystem restoration, from drylands and forests to wetlands and farmlands, showcasing the transformative power of collective action.

Central to the exhibition is a call to action: land degradation affects us all, and reversing it requires global collaboration. By spotlighting the stories of communities on the frontlines of desertification and land restoration, "Save Land. United for Land" emphasizes the interconnectedness of ecosystems and the role each of us plays in safeguarding them.
